firstweek.de is operated by Eshaan Kansal, based in Germany. We provide a free guide to help international students and workers settle in Germany.

• Account data: email address when you sign up via Clerk (authentication provider).
• Profile data: city, arrival date, status (student/worker), and priorities you set during onboarding.
• Usage data: checklist progress and cost calculator estimates you save.
• Analytics: anonymous page views via Google Analytics 4. IP anonymisation is enabled, no personal data is sent to Google.

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): account, profile, and checklist data, needed to provide the service.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): anonymous analytics to understand how to improve the product.

• Clerk, authentication. Stores your email and manages sign-in securely. Clerk Privacy Policy.
• Neon, PostgreSQL database. Data encrypted at rest and in transit. Neon Privacy Policy.
• Vercel, hosting. Processes server request logs. Vercel Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics 4, anonymous usage statistics with IP anonymisation. Google Privacy Policy.

Account and profile data is retained while your account is active. Anonymous analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these rights:
